DIY Fall Farmhouse Tablescape and Dining Room Decor

I am so excited to sharing my first fall d?cor post of 2017!! I managed to get most of my decorating done a little early this year so I could film and share a lot more with you!! I am starting today with my fall tablescape! This is a farmhouse inspired look using some pretty simple elements and includes a quick and simple tutorial on how I made this cute little plaid table runner! If you have access to a yard of plaid fabric and some sewing scissors that’s all you need to make your own! Be sure to watch my video to exactly how I made it!

When it came to my overall fall d?cor look this year I wanted to decorate with colors that were more neutral but still fall. I ended up picking a color scheme that includes dark grays as well as light, white, some soft golden hues and even a little green mixed in. I was inspired by the beautiful plaid and cotton printed pillows that Rachel from the shop Little Bits of Everything made me this year! You will get to see more of those when I reveal my living room in a few weeks!

The colors in my living room naturally flowed over to the dining room since they are in a shared space, and I found some beautiful fall florals and picks that were 50% off at my local Joann’s to really bring everything to life with texture and fall touches they brought to the space.

If you watch the video you can see how I played around with the stems and the items on the table until I got just the look I was going for. I originally had the white dish alone on the plaid table runner but then added the pallet wood tray for some more texture. It was the perfect touch for the rustic feel I was after.

If you want to make a pallet serving tray like this one I have a full video tutorial HERE that will who you step by step how to do just that!?

There were no real pumpkins around town when I was ready to decorate, so I found a bag of gourds and pumpkins also from Joann’s and they were perfect to layer in the white dish center piece as well as place in the hutch! Added bonus that I can re-use them next year!

I love finding d?cor that I can re-purpose from one year to the next! The stems and the pumpkins will definitely be able to stored year round so that I can use them over and over! I’m all about d?cor that has a long shelf life and am carful about what I add to my seasonal d?cor stash each year.

I got the rustic tin buckets from the online farmhouse shop Gable Lane. I just love the items they carry and I frequently find great deals and things that will work in my home from their online shop! These I purchased a while back and they were just the thing for my serving center pieces.

The plates are layered and from various stores. For this reason I continue to by different but all white plates because they are so versatile and I never tire of white dinnerware.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope this post has you excited to for fall and even if you’re not quite ready to decorate has your head filled with a few new ideas!!!
