Welcome to the final part of my spring home tour! Part 3 where I share my living room all dressed up for spring!! This may be my favorite spring room this year!?The soft light blue color pallet is a little out side of my normal decorating style but I have to say it feels good to venture a bit outside of my comfort zone and highlight a little more color in a space! There is something about the farmhouse blue that makes this spring inspired room look so charming and sweet!

Farmhouse Spring Living Room
I am still amazed at the changes that have taken place in this space just since my spring home tour last year which you can see HERE. The walls were blue without the wainscoting, there was a completely different sofa and arm chair in here and now I’ve even gone and painted that little end table near the window white! I have wanted to paint these end tables for a while. but I’ve held of telling myself “that the warmth of the wood is great contrast” while I still believe that is true, I truly love it painted white! Be sure to watch the full video tour below:
I’ve painted lot and LOTS of furniture over the years, and I even purchased and painted and sold furniture for a while before I made and sold signs in my old Etsy shop. My absolute favorite furniture paint is Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk paint. I had tried several different brands of chalk paint and straight up I hated them! Like I nearly wanted to burn down the pieces I painted in chalk paint a little dramatic I know but when you’ve showed up to some creepers home in the boonies whom you’ve never met with a collection of exotic birds (Craigslist customers at their finest,) and then haul a set of furniture all the way home in one piece,?the last thing you want to do is ruin it with a crummy paint product and have to strip it back down! If you have ever had this happen you’ll know just how frustrating it can be!
I live in the middle of nowhere but have a single Ace Hardware store literally right across the street.?One day while in there, I happend to see they were carrying a new brand of chalk paint. Against my better judgment I decided to go ahead and give it a go! As much as I love my milk paint, having the convenience of a good furniture paint across the street convinced me to try again! The brand is Amy Howard and it has completely restored my faith in chalk paint! I’ve now gone through several cans which I never imagined I’d do when it comes to chalk paint! The color I painted this end table and also the sideboard in this room is Bauhaus Buff (a fancy word for white) I’ve also used the color Linen on the decorative piece on the mantle which is a light tan color. I love both of these shades so much!
The other details of this room I have my wonderful seamstress Rachel at Little Bits of Everything Quilts to thank!! As much as I stray away from color, the opposite is true for Rachel she loves color so when she said she was feeling some blue for my spring home I told her to just run with it! I love the pillow covers and quilts she made, the colors all flow so beautifully together!!! and are so bright and perfect for spring!!
Perhaps my single most favorite piece in this room is the metal bucket from hayneedle.com. I made a quick stop into Goodwill armed with a list of things I wanted to find and one of those items was wood rolling pins! I found all of the ones you see in this metal bin and together they are the perfect display of farmhouse goods!!
Thrifting tip! all of the rolling pins had different price tags! I was able to negotiate each of them for the lowest price! Prices at second hand stores are not set in stone so it never hurts to ask!
These metal bins came in a set of two and then I also got the beautiful large wire crate from hayneedle.com as well! I love having bins and baskets to style any which way as I change up my home.
This end table I’ll be sharing more about in a future post! I have a fun tutorial on how to make paper look antiqued to pair with this free printable I made, as well as afull DIY video tutorial on how to make this shiplap frame.
The last area I decorated for spring was this sideboard. I used some more beautiful greenery and fresh flowers and a sign I had made last summer. If you want to make your own sign be sure to check out THIS tutorial.?
